  • Overview

    Responsible for assisting the facilities manager/director in ensuring all Meritrust buildings, grounds, and equipment are well maintained and in optimal working condition. Assist in ensuring the physical security of all building and their premises. Ensure all operations are in accordance with established health and safety regulations. Keep supervisor informed of area activities and problems.


    Assumes responsibility for assisting the facilities manager including but not limited to the following duties:


    • Changing light bulbs
    • Minor electrical repair
    • Plumbing repairs 
    • Preventive maintenance 
    • Furniture relocation/assembly 
    • Drywall repair and painting
    • Supply delivery/courier duties as needed
    • Meet contractors at branches as needed
    • Special projects as assigned
    • Promote goodwill and a positive image of the company at all times
    • Maintain good working relationship with vendors, suppliers, and contractors 


    Qualifications and Education:


    • High school graduate or equivalent
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Must have basic computer skills
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
    • Basic knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions needed
    • Operation of basic power and manual tools and other maintenance equipment

    • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, pushing and pulling
    • Must be able to use and climb ladders 

    • Required to drive the company vehicle for various assigned duties
    • Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
    • Be able to reach overhead
    • Be able to work in various positions including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time
    • Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight periodically throughout assigned workday

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    • Safety Glasses and hearing protection required while performing certain tasks

    Work Environment:


    • Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments, outdoor environments and small shop environments
    • Could be routinely exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise
