The primary function of this position is to deliver high quality service to our members. This includes identifying members’ needs and offering Meritrust products and services.


The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Greets members in a courteous, professional manner. Present a positive image of the Credit Union through a professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Maintains confidentiality in all Credit Union and member matters
  • Follows safety and security policies and regulations, making exceptions when appropriate
  • Determines, meets and solves members’ needs, challenges and questions over the phone
  • Actively promotes and cross-sells Credit Union products and services through phone contact within the guidelines of the established sales program
  • Meets and or exceeds set performance goals monthly
  • Creates a climate which makes members feel valued and respected
  • Thoroughly researches member accounts to evaluate how Meritrust can better serve them
  • Uses time effectively; is creative and adept at utilizing small blocks of “slow time” to best advantage
  • Opens new Membership accounts and other consumer products and services
  • Reviews, processes and closes estate, trust and deceased-member accounts
  • Performs basic funds movement
  • Provides status update on loan applications
  • Understands, educates and assists members with all Meritrust online and remote services
  • Understands, educates and assists members with Shared Branching
  • Order/Block debit and credit cards
  • Makes corrections and refunds on accounts when necessary
  • Processes stop payments and lien releases
  • Completion of annual Meritrust education and development program
  • Performs other duties assigned by manager


  • Sales experience preferred
  • Previous financial institution experience preferred. Knowledge of principles and practices of a financial institution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate applicable PC programs necessary for job function
  • High School diploma or equivalent
