  • Overview

    The primary function of this position is to deliver high quality service to our members. This includes identifying members’ needs and offering Meritrust products and services.

    Responsibilities

    The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

    • Assist Branch Manager with hiring, supervision, development, training, evaluation and discipline of branch staff
    • Models the established sales process. Coaches process with direct reports. Holds staff accountable for set goals. Attends ongoing sales training.
    • Drives to meet and exceed own sales and service goals and objectives.
    • Gives clear, motivating and constructive feedback.
    • Meet sales goals for cross sales, product penetration, services per household, ancillary products and investment services.
    • Participate in goal setting and tracking at the branch level with the guidance of Branch Manager, Regional Manager, VP Retail Delivery, and VP Sales and Service.
    • Takes immediate and independent action when needed.
    • Adapts readily to changes.
    • Creates a feeling of energy and excitement among team members.
    • Celebrates significant team and individual accomplishments. Gives recognition to high performers.
    • Directs and trains teller and member service personnel
    • Participates and/or facilitates regular branch meetings for purposes of sales and operational proficiency
    • Able to perform job duties of the positions supervised
    • Assist Branch Manager in operational aspects of the branch including security, scheduling, cash management, balancing, negotiable items, fraud, audits, offages and errors.
    • Maintain cash vault. Anticipate projected cash usage. Order cash replenishment.
    • Assist with resolution of regulatory and audit findings
    • Respond to member comments and complaints, as needed
    • Demonstrate initiative in identifying problems/solutions and enhancing quality service
    • Encourage and develop cooperation among staff members to ensure a team effort and prompt service
    • Open and Close branch independently
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
    • Completion of annual Meritrust education and development program, as well as applicable Management Training programs offered.

    Qualifications

    • Sales experience of 3 years or more preferred
    • Previous financial institution experience of 3 years or more preferred, including cash handling and member service. Knowledge of principles and practices of a financial institution
    • Supervisory and employee development experience preferred
    • Excellent oral communication skills
    • Ability to operate applicable PC programs necessary for job function
    • High School diploma or equivalent
