  • Overview

    The person in this role collaborates with cross-functional teams and other staff throughout the Credit Union to ensure the successful coordination and timely, efficient execution of Credit Union initiatives and strategic plan objectives. A strong focus on internal and external customer service with exceptional organizational and communication skills is essential to delivering initiatives on time and within budget.  The role functions as a problem solver who manages, monitors, summarizes and reports progress of projects.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Provide day-to-day project management support for the credit union to facilitate the execution of the strategic plan as well as departmental initiatives.
    • Lead project meetings using the templates established in the PMO process. 
    • Use MS Project to create and manage schedules for projects. 
    • Drive Projects to completion by monitoring tasks, costs, and resources while holding all parties accountable to the timeline and process. 
    • Assist Project Sponsors with business case development and metrics relevant to the short and long-term business goals and objectives of the strategic plan. 
    • Collaborate with Project Sponsor to identify resources needed (people, time and budget) assign individual responsibilities and establish clear and achievable objectives. 
    • Facilitate project scoping and fact gathering to develop and document project needs such that the results and deliverables will meet all stakeholder needs. 
    • Honor the project management methodologies and practical application tools set forth to help drive high project standards and results. 
    • Create and maintain project related risks, action items, issues, and lessons learned documentation.
    • Present information in an organized manner using available technology to support the decision making process. 
    • Facilitate Project Scoping discussions using one or more scoping tools with project teams to establish and document the project boundaries and/or create a vision for the future state of processes or other scenarios. 
    • Facilitate discussions and tools to help categorize the critical components, features and requirements of a process by identifying the “must have” and “nice to have” items and establish realistic expectations. 
    • Maintain project participant’s accountability to meeting project assignments, quality and timelines in accordance with the needs and interdependencies of the project. 
    • Coordinate with Risk Manager to ensure Risk Assessments are performed and appropriate mitigation tools are in place before project completion. 
    • Monitor projects regularly reporting on progress, identifying roadblocks and risks.  Implement countermeasures and escalate issues to the Director, PMO when appropriate. 
    • Communicate cross-functionally with department heads and support staff to support organizational goals. 
    • Enable continuous communication of project status using PMO systems and Status Meetings as primary resources. 
    • Close out projects and capture essential lessons learned to ensure future projects are successful. 
    • Perform other responsibilities as needed to deliver exceptional service to members and other stakeholders towards meeting Meritrust Credit Union goals. 

    Qualifications

    • Ability to manage multiple projects required 
    • Highly effective interpersonal skills required 
    • Able to handle difficult conversations and conflict in a professional manner 
    • Ability to participate as a member of a cross-departmental project team required 
    • Strong organizational and time management skills required 
    • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Project and Visio 
    • PMI Certification helpful

    • Six Sigma experience helpful 
    • Three to five years banking experience helpful 
    • Strong understanding of information systems and technology
    • Three to five years project management experience
    • College degree or equivalent preferred
